Finding Joy

We are famous for our "Finding Joy" segments where community members talk about how they've been finding joy during this difficult time. We hope you find some inspiration from our supporters, just like we have!

Finding Joy with Sarah

I am outside today taking a walk. I am not wearing my mask because I am talking right now and walking with my daughter Gabi and dog Stella. We realize that many out there have it far worse than we have, and we want to acknowledge that. We are hoping that we can finds way to support those in need

Finding Joy with John Hines

John Hines is a City of Tacoma Council Member. These are difficult times for all of us, and remembering to take time for yourself is important. Through the City of Tacoma’s behavioral and mental health tax, there are services available to Tacoma residents experiencing stress. Please take advantage of the services that are available in our community.

Finding Joy with Miri Hyman

My daughter Miri is one of my biggest supporters. When I told her I wanted to run for office, she was so excited! Miri works as a software engineer and lives in Ballard. While she will be working from home for the unforeseeable future, she has found joy in her embroidery and keeping up on my race.

Happy Passover!

In these uncertain times we must continue to live in a way that creates happiness. Watch this video of what I am doing for Passover with my family and friends (through video conferencing!)

Meet the Lappins

Stacy and Nathan Lappin, Puyallup residents, are parents with full-time jobs who struggled to ensure that their three children received a quality education while they learned from a distance this spring. Stacy, an educator, shares similar concerns to other parents and teachers regarding the health and safety of our children and educators.
